"Las tropas de Estados Unidos no pueden ni deben luchar en una guerra que las fuerzas afganas no están dispuestas a luchar por sí mismas", ratificó Joe Biden.
Cinco semanas después de decir que era “muy poco probable” que los talibanes se apoderaran de Afganistán, el presidente de Estados Unidos, Joe Biden, habló a su país desde la Casa Blanca.
Defendió su decisión de retirar las tropas ya que "construir una nación” nunca fue un objetivo y admitió que la caída del gobierno a manos de los talibanes fue “más rápido de lo que esperaban”.
Biden dijo que mantiene “firmemente” su decisión de retirarse de Afganistán, pero dijo que “actuará rápidamente” contra el terrorismo en ese país “si es necesario”.

Biden también se comprometió a “hablar” en favor de las mujeres afganas bajo el régimen talibán.
